The Austrian Restaurant was opened in the lovely village of Dwygyfylchi, in the county of Conwy, in1989.

In the last nearly 20 years of trading Fredi & judith have built up a loyal following, some of whom have been customers since the beginning, but  they are always thrilled to welcome new customers!

Nestling at the bottom of the beautiful Sychnant Pass, between the historic town of Conwy and the quarry town of Penmaenmawr, the restaurant is sited in a building dated 1786. The house has always been associated with the catering trade, having housed tea rooms(in 1890) a fish and chip shop, a bistro a cafe and a steak Bar in its long history!

Fredi, the chef, was born in Baden-bei-Wien, lower Austria, and trained in Vienna. He met his Beaumaris born wife Judith when they were both working in Saalbach,Salzburg in the hotel trade, Judith having been a student at The College of Food in Birmingham.
